I wanted the focus to be Vincent first, as a plain person with the usual challenges and problems. His grounding in humility second, and his legacy third…a model of what is possible for the rest of us schmucks just trying to get along. Others start with or get stuck with “Saint” or distracted with his great service to the poor–as a superman.
