Inviting Others Into God’s Work

I can’t imagine how irresistible it must have been to have St. Vincent look in you in the eyes when he was asking for help. It helped, of course, that he believed this was God’s work, and that he was inviting others into God’s work. It’s an extraordinary assumption actually—bordering on arrogance—if it wasn’t that he had seen lives changed in unexplainable and extraordinary ways.
That same request and the resultant generosity has now continued for over 400 years within the work of the Vincentian Family.
May God continue to bless the poor with our ready hearts, and bless all those whose stories in these pages inspire us for the work.
